Is Controller Supported?
Yes — Super Battle Golf has native controller support on PC. You can plug in a controller and play without any additional software.
Xbox One / Series X|S
Fully supported. Plug in via USB or connect wirelessly with the Xbox Wireless Adapter. Buttons are labeled natively in-game.
Xbox 360
Supported via USB. Older controller but all buttons map correctly.
PlayStation (DualShock 4 / DualSense)
Works via Steam Input. Button prompts will show Xbox labels in-game. Use DS4Windows or Steam's built-in PS controller support for best results.
Nintendo Switch Pro Controller
Works via Steam Input with Bluetooth or USB. Button prompts show Xbox labels. Enable "Nintendo Button Layout" in Steam settings if preferred.
Steam Deck Built-in Controls
Fully supported. The Steam Deck's built-in controls map to the Xbox layout automatically.
Generic / Third-Party Controllers
Most XInput-compatible controllers work. DirectInput-only controllers may require Steam Input or x360ce to function correctly.
How to Change Controls & Key Bindings
Super Battle Golf allows you to remap both keyboard and controller bindings from within the game's settings menu.
- From the main menu, open Settings (gear icon or Esc in-game).
- Navigate to the Controls tab.
- Click any action to highlight it, then press the new key or button you want to assign.
- To reset to defaults, click Restore Defaults at the bottom of the Controls screen.
Remapping via Steam Input
For deeper customization — especially for PS4/PS5 or Switch Pro controllers — Steam Input gives you full control over every button:
- Right-click Super Battle Golf in your Steam Library.
- Select Manage → Controller Configuration.
- Browse community layouts or create your own custom binding profile.
- Changes apply immediately when you launch the game through Steam.
Controls FAQ
Keyboard or controller — which is better for Super Battle Golf?
Both work well. Keyboard & mouse gives more precise aiming since you use the mouse to aim shots. Controller feels more natural for movement and is the better choice for couch co-op. Most competitive players use keyboard & mouse.
My controller isn't being detected — what do I do?
First, make sure Steam is running (the game uses Steam Input). Try plugging the controller in before launching the game. If it's still not detected, go to Steam → Settings → Controller → General Controller Settings and enable the appropriate controller type (Xbox, PlayStation, or Generic Gamepad Support).
Can I use a PS5 DualSense controller?
Yes, via Steam Input. The DualSense will work but button prompts in-game will show Xbox labels (A/B/X/Y instead of Cross/Circle/Square/Triangle). Steam Input can remap buttons to your preference.
How do I disarm a landmine with a controller?
Hold RB to enter Creep (slow walk) mode, then slowly walk toward the mine. While in Creep mode and close to the mine, press A to disarm it. Walking at normal speed will trigger the explosion.
Can I play local multiplayer with controllers?
Yes. Super Battle Golf supports local co-op on PC. Connect multiple controllers, then select Local Multiplayer from the main menu. Each player uses their own controller on the same screen.
