Super Battle Golf doesn't use traditional golf scoring. Instead of counting strokes, it uses a point-based system where every hole awards points for finishing position, stroke efficiency, and knockouts. The player with the most total points after all holes wins the match.
How Points Are Earned
Each hole awards points across three categories:
Finishing Position
The biggest point source. First place earns the most; points decrease for each subsequent position.
Stroke Bonus
Fewer shots to finish = bonus points. Efficient play is rewarded on top of your finishing position.
Knockouts
Stunning opponents with items or your club earns points. Useful when you can't win the hole outright.
Finishing Position Points
Points for finishing position scale with the number of players in the lobby. In an 8-player game:
| Finishing Position | Points (8 players) | Points (4 players) |
|---|---|---|
| 🥇 1st Place | 8 pts | 4 pts |
| 🥈 2nd Place | 7 pts | 3 pts |
| 🥉 3rd Place | 6 pts | 2 pts |
| 4th Place | 5 pts | 1 pt |
| 5th Place | 4 pts | — |
| 6th Place | 3 pts | — |
| 7th Place | 2 pts | — |
| 8th Place | 1 pt | — |
Stroke Bonus Points
On top of your finishing position, you earn bonus points for completing the hole in fewer strokes. The fewer shots you take, the more bonus points you receive.
| Strokes Taken | Bonus Points |
|---|---|
| Hole-in-One (1 stroke) | +3 pts |
| 2 strokes | +2 pts |
| 3 strokes | +1 pt |
| 4+ strokes | +0 pts |
Knockout Points
Stunning opponents with items or your golf club earns points regardless of your finishing position. This makes knockouts a viable secondary strategy when you're behind.
| Action | Points |
|---|---|
| Knockout (stun an opponent) | +1 pt per knockout |
| Domination (multiple knockouts in quick succession) | +1 pt bonus |
Knockouts stack — if you stun three players in one hole, that's 3 extra points. In a close match, a knockout-focused hole can be the difference between winning and losing.
Overtime Rules
If no player finishes a hole within the time limit, the game enters Overtime — a short final window where you must sink the ball or face a point penalty.
What happens in Overtime
- A countdown timer appears — you have a very short window to finish
- If you finish during Overtime, you still earn finishing position points (reduced)
- If you fail to finish before Overtime ends, you lose significant points
- Players who already finished before Overtime are unaffected
Scoring Strategies to Win Matches
Consistency beats big swings
Finishing 2nd or 3rd on every hole outscores a player who wins two holes but finishes last on the others. Don't gamble on risky plays when a safe finish is available.
Use knockouts when you're behind
If you're clearly not going to finish in the top 3, switch to a knockout strategy. Stunning 3–4 players in one hole can earn you more points than a 5th-place finish.
Protect your lead in the final holes
If you're ahead on total points, play conservatively in the last 2–3 holes. A 3rd-place finish while your rivals fight each other is often enough to hold the lead.
Chase stroke bonuses on easy holes
On shorter, simpler holes, aim for a 2-stroke finish to grab the +2 bonus. The extra points add up across a full match and can decide a close game.
Scoring FAQ
How do you win a match in Super Battle Golf?
The player with the highest total points after all holes are completed wins the match. Points come from finishing position, stroke bonuses, and knockouts on each hole.
Does finishing first always win the match?
No. Winning individual holes earns the most points per hole, but a player who consistently finishes 2nd or 3rd can outscore someone who wins a few holes and finishes last on the rest. Total points across all holes determine the winner.
Do knockouts count if you don't finish the hole?
Yes. Knockout points are awarded immediately when you stun an opponent, regardless of whether you finish the hole or time out in Overtime.
What happens if two players tie on total points?
In the event of a tie, the tiebreaker goes to the player with more first-place hole finishes. If still tied, total knockout count is used as a secondary tiebreaker.
